A Green Roof (Scott Arboretum)
This green roof is one of many that adorn resident halls at the Swarthmore college. As you can see from the photo’s, the plant palette is primarily made up of Sedum varieties and some Calamagrostis (feather reed grass). If you look closely in the 4th photo, you’ll see a small glimpse of another resident hall green roof.
What I discovered from this day was that many of my photos were washed out because of the bright sun. Perhaps I should look into a UV filter for my lens. Any suggestions?

Glad to see that you are finding time to share with this blog. I am having the same trouble photographing-harsh light washing out colors. Thanks again for including Scott.
Hey Josh,
Thanks for stopping by the blog!
I’ll have to try a UV cover for my lens, it’s hard when we visit sites in the middle of the day. (And crossing my fingers for an overcast day probably isn’t the most practical of a ‘solution’ :))
